Traffic Signal Timing Change at W. West St. and N. Centerville Rd. A temporary traffic control order has been issued for the traffic signal at W. West St. and N. Centerville Rd. Beginning Monday, June 30th at approximately 5:00 p.m., the traffic signal will be in flashing red mode for W. West St. and flashing yellow mode for N. Centerville Road. The change is being made as an evaluation period for a possible change to the traffic control devices used at the intersection. As part of the design process for reconstruction of N. Centerville Road, engineers reviewed the need for a traffic signal at the intersection and the appropriate traffic control device for the current traffic conditions. Engineers found that traffic through the intersection, particularly on West Street, does not warrant the current traffic signal. Engineers recommended that the intersection be made a two-way stop and the Commission approved a temporary traffic control order to determine the impact of such a change. After a six week test period the Commission will consider whether to make a permanent change to the traffic control devices at the intersection.
