Nottawa St., Sturgis, MI The general public is invited to attend an informational workshop to discuss the recreational needs of the City of Sturgis. The City of Sturgis, in coordination with VIRIDIS Design Group, has initiated a planning process to update the 5-Year Recreation Plan. This includes setting goals and objectives for the future development of parks and recreation facilities. The comments and ideas received at this meeting will be used to help develop the 2015 Parks and Recreation Master Plan Update. At the December 17th Sturgis City Commission meeting, Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr, and Huber, Inc. will provide their findings on the traffic signal warrant analysis completed for the S. Nottawa Street and Congress Street intersection. The traffic signal review was undertaken as part of the design for the next phase of S. Nottawa Street's reconstruction between Congress and Mechanic. Action is expected on a recommendation for intersection control. Interested residents are welcome to attend.
