The City of Sturgis Electric Department is implementing a new Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system starting May 13th. The IVR system will allow customers to report any power outages that they are experiencing by calling (269) 659-7255 24-hours a day, seven days a week. This automated system will identify the calling phone number and immediately report the address associated with that number to the Electric Department. This will allow technicians to find appropriate outage groupings and fix the outage promptly. The IVR system relies on accurate account information to identify the outage area, so customers are urged to check their contact information on file with the Electric Department by contacting Customer Service at (269) 659-7254.
With the construction on West Congress Street and South Nottawa Street accommodations are being made for traffic in the project area. Starting today, May 7th, Pleasant Street will be opened for two-way traffic. There will be no parking on the east side of Pleasant Street during this time.
