The City of Sturgis has started the Sturgis 2022 initiative with the focus of determining the direction for the community over the next ten years. A website (sturgismi.gov/sturgis2022) and Facebook page (facebook.com/sturgis2022) have been made to provide more information and help solicit citizen feedback.

To help start discussion, the City Commission has developed seven focus areas for the community to consider and provide feedback on. The focus areas look at potential goals for Sturgis to reach over the next decade. They include Great Streets; Business Generator; Charming Community; Commercial Enhancement; Strong Families; Highly-Skilled Workforce; and Retiree Friendly.

Citizen feedback is important to the process, so please be sure to provide your opinion. Later in the summer, the City Commission will use the feedback gathered to develop four final focus areas to guide the City and community for the next decade. Information on these focus areas and the citizen feedback from the process will be released in early fall.
