Metalloid Corp Relocates and Expands in Sturgis

Metalloid Corporation, a global manufacturer, purchased a vacant facility and will move its headquarters to Sturgis in the near future. This expansion to Sturgis incorporates larger manufacturing capabilities, product development and laboratory facilities. The company will create 17 new jobs with expected growth to over 30 jobs in the following years. Three key management personnel reside in Sturgis: Owners, Fred and Tom Edwards and Rick Strapple, Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

Metalloid Corporation manufactures specialty lubricants, industrial cleaners and corrosion preventatives for metal processors globally. Markets served include automotive, HVAC, appliance, electrical and aerospace. Metalloid Corporation was founded in 1951 in Huntington, Indiana. In 2002, Metalloid expanded operations to include a facility in Jacksonville, Texas. European, Middle Eastern and Asia markets are served by Metalloid's licensee, Burr Held, S.A.R.L., in Genay, France.

Sturgis Mayor Barb Fisher stated, “We're truly thrilled about Metalloid's decision to choose Sturgis and even more so about the jobs that will be created for our community. We are also very excited about their botanical product lines and their growth potential.”
