2013 Spring Brush and Leaf Pickup Schedule |
by eWire Info
The City of Sturgis Department of Public Services will be conducting their 2013 Spring Brush and Leaf pickup beginning Monday, April 1st.
DPS crews will begin the pickup on the north side of the City and work their way south. Weather conditions and varying amounts of brush make it difficult to adhere to a strict schedule, therefore it is necessary to have your materials ready for pickup. DPS crews will only be making one (1) pass through the north and south side of the City.
If you miss this brush pickup, crews will be picking up again the first full week of May as well as the first full week of October.
Rules for brush pickup are as follows:
~ Materials must be neatly stacked on the terrace away from objects or obstructions such as power poles, guy wires, sign posts,
valve boxes, etc.
~ A limit of one (1) truckload of material per parcel will be collected and hauled away.
~ Limbs, branches or brush material larger than four (4) inches in diameter will not be collected.
~ Limbs, branches or brush material longer than eight (8) feet in length will not be collected.
~ No grass clippings, roots, thorn bearing branches, tree trunks, stumps or construction materials will be collected.
**Please note - It is unlawful to place brush beyond the curb in the street.**
