The Department of Public Services will begin our 26th year of leaf pickup and community composting program. DPS crews will begin picking up leaves with heavy equipment on November 2nd following the same route as they do with brush pick up. They will start North of Chicago Rd and West of N Nottawa working their way across the North side of town and then through the South side. Leaf pick up will resume each day where crews left off the day before. DPS will continue leaf pick up following this schedule through the end of November as weather permits. ***NOTE*** We will be picking up leaves for City of Sturgis residents ONLY. If you have a 5-digit address & live in one of the Township areas within the City you are responsible for the disposal of your leaves. We encourage you to use the Compost Site for disposal of your leaves, grass, clippings and brush. As a reminder starting November 2, 2015, Fall Compost Site hours will be as follows: Monday and Thursday – 12pm to 6pm Saturday – 9am to 5pm Sunday – 1pm to 5pm The Compost Site will close for the season on November 23rd at 6:00pm, unless the ground is covered with snow before then.
