For Immediate Release Contact: Jeff Pirro 279-7131 (Troy – June 17, 2010) Mayor Harry Tutunjian announced today the city will waive pool fees for city kids ages 12 and under. The pools in Knickerbacker Park and South Troy are slated to open July 6th. “From the kids programs at Frear Park to the city pools, there's no shortage of affordable fun and public recreation opportunities,” said Mayor Tutunjian. “The opening of our city pools, along with all of the city's summer programs for kids, gives them something constructive to do and a reason to stay off the streets and I want to ensure that there are no barriers to kids getting a break from the summer sun.” The fee of $1 for a day pass and $10 for a season pass for kids 13 and older will remain and children must be accompanied by responsible guardian.
