“Shadow of the Lions” By Christopher Swann How long must we pay for the crimes of our youth? That is just one question Christopher Swann explores in his literary debut, a thriller set in the elite—and sometimes dark—environs of Blackburne, a prep school in Virginia. A gripping story of friendship, redemption and what it means to lay the past to rest. Christopher Swann lives with his wife and two sons in Atlanta, where he is the English department chair at Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School. For a $25 donation to the Friends of the Mountains Branch Library, you will enjoy a lively book talk with the author and a delicious 3-course lunch. Tickets should be purchased in advance at the library. Checks made payable to “Friends of the Mountains Branch Library” can be mailed to the library at 150 Bill’s Creek Rd., Lake Lure, NC 28746. All proceeds go to support and fund the Mountains Branch Library.
