The City's Project Manager will be responsible for a variety of projects, primarily within the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) special districts. You will work under the guidance of the Parks Planning & Strategic Initiatives Manager who brings a wealth of knowledge and firs-hand experience managing these types of projects in the City of Winter Haven. Together you will coordinate with the CRA Manager to implement projects within the Community Redevelopment Plan primarily for the Downtown CRA District. Additional projects within the overall Florence Villa CRA district may be assigned as well. The Project Manager will manage projects through all phases, from conception to completion. You will be responsible for the project budget, procurement of materials and services, community engagement and communications, and progress reporting. The Project Manager will need to be a strong collaborator and communicator. Internally, you will coordinate with the CRA Manager, Public Affairs and Communications Office, Procurement, Building and Engineering, Public Works, Water, and the City Manager’s Office. Externally, key groups include the CRA Advisory Board, Main Street Winter Haven, The Greater Winter Haven Chamber of Commerce, and businesses and residents within the CRA. Additionally, coordination with local, state and federal agencies may be required throughout various projects.
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university in a related field. Two (2) years of project management, program management, or similarly related experience. Demonstrated organizational, problem solving and relationship building skills are essential. An equivalent combination of education and experience that is determined to be directly related to the foregoing specific requirements may be substituted.

You will be expected to represent the City well at all times. Occasional attendance at evening or weekend meetings, events, conferences, training sessions and seminars. This includes the CRA Advisory Committee and Board meetings may be required.
