This is a free community sing along event where song books will be provided. Pickin' takes place on the first Friday of every month, September through May. The Historic Pughsville Association, Inc. extends an invitation to the community to attend the 2016 May Day Festival of Central Florida on Saturday, May 28, 2016. The Historic Pughsville Association, Inc. continues to commemorate the historic day of May 20, 1865 when the slaves in Florida were emancipated. Until recent times, the May Day celebration was widely recognized throughout the state. The Historic Pughsville Association, Inc. strives to revive it as a major festival designed to educate and entertain residents and visitors of our Central Florida communities. This year's event will be held at the Chain O' Lakes Complex, 210 Cypress Gardens Blvd., on Saturday, May 28, 2016 from 10 AM until 10PM.
