Downtown Banner The City offers two banner slots that can be used for City-sponsored events, nonprofit organizations and community events (in that order of priority). There are two locations on Santa Cruz Avenue with one at Santa Cruz Avenue and Doyle Street and the other at Santa Cruz Avenue and University Drive. Banner slots can be reserved up to 12 months in advance. Reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations may be limited to a maximum of two consecutive slots depending on availability. Reservations can be made by completing and submitting in person banner permit application.
Guidelines
Banners should be no larger than 3 feet by 30 feet (minimum length of 15 feet), have at least six air baffles (which are installed in order to prevent ripping), and metal grommets to be on all four corners and along the top edge with holes large enough for a 3/8-inch cable clamp.
Banners are to be delivered to the Arrillaga Family Gymnasium (located at 600 Alma St.) at least one business day before scheduled to be put up. Banners not picked up within 72 hours of removal will become property of the City.
Banner are put up and taken down starting Monday at 7 a.m. and ending Monday at 7 a.m., with the exception of staff and equipment availability. The cost is $480 per slot for up to two consecutive weeks.
The City will not hold a particular location without receiving payment.
Banner specifications
Banners must be heavy canvas or vinyl with a minimum weight of 13 ounces (14 mil in thickness), minimum 500 denier polyester weave mesh (scrim), single sheet (not double or two pieces), edges doubled (hemmed 2 inches) and stitched.

Picnic Areas The City of Menlo Park has picnic areas at both Burgess and Nealon Park available for rent. These areas are great for family picnics, summer BBQ's, and more! Other parks with picnic areas are available on a first-come first-serve basis. Please call 650-330-2220 to reserve.

Tennis Courts The City of Menlo Park has fifteen tennis courts available for rent. The courts are located at Burgess Park (2), Nealon Park (5), Willow Oaks Park (4), Kelly Park (2), and La Entrada School (2). Lights are available at Burgess, Nealon, Kelly, and Willow Oaks Park. Courts are available from sunrise to sunset (or 10 p.m. at lighted tennis courts). No more than 50% of the courts will be rented on a given day to allow public use. At this time reservations for Tennis Courts can be made online through this registration portal. Please note that a tennis key is required to enter all City courts.
