FREE Hazardous Waste Disposal Menlo Park residents may bring household hazardous waste including paint, thinners, motor oil, batteries, fluorescent lamps, pesticides, herbicides, pool and photo chemicals, drain openers, and cleaning solvents to a special drop-off location in central Menlo Park on Saturday, August 13th. The History of Recorded Sound Jerry McBride, Head Librarian at Stanford's Archive of Recorded Sound, will discuss this immense collection of over 300,000 items of historical significance. Recordings include: speeches by JFK, Winston Churchill, and Will Rogers; readings by famous poets; opera and jazz. The Archive contains all of the recordings of the Monterey Jazz Festival since its inception in 1958. The event will take place at the Menlo Park City Council Chambers, 701 Laurel Street, Menlo Park The Program is supported by the Friends of the Menlo Park Library and the Frances Mack Trust.
