In an effort to educate and inform the community, the Wyoming Police Department provides its residents and business owners a voluntary opportunity to learn more about the Wyoming Police Department through the Citizens Police Academy. The eleven-week program includes lectures, presentations, as well as hands-on activities to inform and demonstrate to participants the many facets of law enforcement and to introduce the members of the police department. This stimulating and informative program will give each participant a better sense of the Wyoming Police Department and the issues concerning everyday operations. Citizens will also gain a better understanding of their role in the police department's Community Oriented Policing philosophy.
