1/9/2018 5:30 PM (City Hall) Community Workshop - Application No. 18-CW-04
As required by the City of Sarasota, a community meeting is being held to discuss a proposed Rezone Ordinance Amendment and Site Plan for two hotels located at 995 Airport Circle and 965 University Parkway, as well as the existing Hampton Inn hotel parcel located at 975 University Parkway. The subject parcels are zoned Intensive Commercial District (ICD). The proposed Rezone Ordinance Amendment and Site Plan would replace the previous approvals (07-ROA-02 and 07-SP-16), which allowed for a mixed-use and professional office complex as well as a hotel. A boundary adjustment is also necessary for 995 Airport Circle as the SW corner of this parcel was part of the previously approved site plan for the 975 University Parkway parcel. The applicant is now proposing a four to five-story, 122 room hotel with a 146+/- parking spaces at the 965 University Parkway parcel, which is an increase of 30 rooms from the previous approval. The applicant is also proposing a three to four-story, 60 room hotel with 133+/- parking spaces at the 995 Airport Circle parcel. Notice

1/17/2018 5:30 PM (City Hall) Community Workshop - Application No. 18-CW-06
As required by the City of Sarasota, a community meeting is being held to discuss a proposed street/right-of-way vacation for the unimproved 16’ x 60’ (approximate) platted right-of-way segment of Turk’s Cap Place, immediately north of 42nd Street. This right-of-way has never been improved and there are no future plans for improvements. There are no public utilities within this right-of-way. The property owners of the parcel immediately to the west of the subject right-of-way, located at 663 42nd Street and zoned Residential Single Family 3 (RSF-3), are seeking a vacation of the unimproved right-of-way in an effort to square off the parcel and provide increased flexibility as to the type of structure which can be built. The unimproved right-of-way does not extend to the northern end of the 663 42nd Street parcel nor into the Houses of Indian Beach Subdivision, and therefore would not have any beneficial use if it were ever improved. If vacated, the owner of the abutting parcel (701 42nd Street) on the east side of the unimproved right-of-way would assume ownership of half the width (8’) of the vacated portion of the right-of-way.
