2/4/2018 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM (NOT FOR PROFIT) Symphony of Westchester: Young Artists Showcase
Concerto competition winners and student composers will be the focus of The Symphony of Westchester’s Young Artist Showcase on Sun., Feb. 4, 2018, at 3:00 p.m. at Iona College’s Christopher J. Murphy Auditorium. Two winners of the Symphony’s fourth annual Young Artist Concerto Competition will play a movement of a concerto with the fully professional Symphony. In addition, the Symphony will perform compositions written by students in the Composers of the Future program, a collaboration with New Rochelle’s Songcatchers after-school organization. A snow date for this concert has been set for Sat., Feb. 3 at 3:00 p.m. The decision to use the snow date will be made on Fri., Feb. 2 and will be available on the Symphony’s website: www.thesymphonyofwestchester.org and by phone: (914) 654-4926. Special reduced ticket prices for this concert are $15 for all adults and $5 for children and students. The RCSD will hold its regular meeting on February 6 2018 in the Rye Middle School Multipurpose room. On the agenda are fiscal, special education, personnel and business items that ordinarily come before the Board. In addition, there will be two presentations: • Fiscal Forecast Presentation by Superintendent Dr. Eric Byrne and Assistant Superintendent for Business Gabriella O’Connor • Organizational Structure Presentation by Superintendent Dr. Eric Byrne Members of the public are welcome and encouraged to attend this meeting of the Board and to speak at designated times. Prior to the meeting, beginning at 7:00 P.M., the Board will meet in Executive Session at Rye Middle School Multipurpose Room for the review of the employment history of current and prospective employees, negotiations pursuant to the Taylor Law, review of current litigation and litigation strategy.
