The Rye City School District Board of Education will meet Tuesday, September 12, 2017 beginning at 8:00 PM in the Rye Middle School Multipurpose Room. On the agenda are fiscal, special education, personnel and business items that ordinarily come before the Board. Information will be presented to the Board and the Public regarding Summer Professional Learning and Summer Curriculum Development. Members of the public are welcome and encouraged to attend this meeting of the Board and to speak at designated times. Prior to the meeting, members of The Rye City School District Board of Education and Central Office Administrators will be touring two elementary schools: The tours will be held at the following locations and times: • Milton Elementary School beginning at 6:30 p.m. • Midland Elementary School beginning at 7:00 After completion of the tour, beginning at approximately 7:40 p.m. the Board will meet in Executive Session at Rye Middle School Multipurpose Room for the review of the employment history of current and prospective employees, negotiations pursuant to the Taylor Law, review of current litigation and litigation strategy.

It began with a seaplane operation in the early 1920s, evolved to a World War II airfield before transitioning to a county airport. Author Kent Patterson lives locally and is a retired Metro North Railroad project manager, and historian.

Wednesday, September 27 7:30 pm Meeting Room Local author, Chaplain and spiritual counselor Andrea Raynor knows that when the funeral service is over, the friends leave, and the house grows quiet, grief can be overwhelming. Join us as she discusses her book on hope and help in times of sorrow and loss. Andrea Raynor received her Master of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School. A United Methodist minister, she served as a chaplain to the morgue at Ground Zero after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
