The City of Georgetown, SC requests sealed bids from qualified contractors for construction of the Georgetown Peak Shaving Generation Plant. The detailed scope of work is described in the Contract specifications and drawings prepared by Utility Technology Engineers-Consultants. The generation plant will be constructed at the City of Georgetown’s Waste Water Treatment Plant facility. A mandatory pre-bid proposer’s conference will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the City of Georgetown Fire Department, 1405 Prince Street. The Owner and the Engineer will conduct the conference to review the project scope, specifications and drawings and also to address proposer’s questions. A visit to the Wastewater Treatment Plant site, 126 Ridge Street, will follow the conference. Bids will not be accepted from proposers who do not attend the pre-bid conference. Sealed bids will be received by the Purchasing Department at City Hall no later than 2:00 pm (EST) Friday, March 17, 2017. Submit one (1) original, five (5) copies, and one (1) electronic copy of the proposal. Bids will be opened in public and read aloud. Exhibit 1 added March 8, 2017 Section 6.9, SCHEDULE OF WORK, identifies that the project is expected to be complete by December 15, 2017. Section 6.22 TIME OF COMMENCEMENT AND COMPLETION states that the work is to be completed in accordance with a schedule to be included in the SCHEDULE OF WORK statement. Included above is a schedule (Exhibit 1) prepared by the Engineer showing the Engineer’s expectation of activity details and schedule. This document reflects the construction estimates and ideas of the Engineer and is not to be considered specific direction to the Contractor. The selected contractor is expected to prepare for Engineer approval a detailed construction schedule and keep the schedule updated at least monthly showing completed activities and scheduled activities as the project proceeds.
