The City of Georgetown requests bids for the renovation of the Public Boat Landing located at East Bay Park on the Sampit River in Georgetown, SC. The successful bidder shall provide all necessary work to complete the project for the City as per specifications and drawings provided by McSweeney Engineers. The general description of this project includes relocating the two existing 8 ft by 40 ft aluminum floating docks to the north end of the project site. One existing floating dock will be modified for handicap access. Both existing floating docks will be connected to land by two new aluminum fixed piers supported by timber piles. One fixed pier will have a covered pier head. Two new 10 ft by 60 ft aluminum piers will be placed in the area of the existing floating docks and moored by steel pipe piles. Four new gangways will be installed. The existing steel sheet pile wing walls for the concrete abutments will be cut off at the channel bottom and removed. The remaining steel sheeting will be cleaned of corrosion and recoated. A rubber fender system will be installed on the steel sheeting to reduce impact damage to vessels and sheeting. New riprap will be installed along the toe of the existing concrete ramp.
