The City of Georgetown is soliciting proposals for a partial demolition of a vacant industrial building in the Maryville section of Georgetown, formerly known as Eagle Electric Manufacturing located at 2928 S. Fraser Street, Georgetown, SC 29440. The future use of the site does not warrant extensive repair cost of the roof, electrical, plumbing, and other sytems in the building. The City would like to demolish approximately 106,000 sq. ft. of the building, leaving the approximatley 52,000 sq. ft. that is constructed with steel frame and siding. The City requires that the concrete slab under the demolished portions of the building remain so it can be used for outdoor storage.
The City will conduct a Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting and Tour on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 11am. This meeting will be held at City Hall Council Chambers located at 120 North Fraser Street in Georgetown, SC. During this meeting, we will briefly review the project scope and allow prospective contractors to ask questions. A Mandatory Tour of the site will be conducted immediately following the meeting. All questions about this bid posting are due by 5pm on Tuesday, July 17th to Bonnie Infinger. Answers to these questions will be posted to the website at www.cogsc.com under "Current Bids" by 5pm on Thursday, July 19th.
No RFP will be accepted after its due date and time specified above. The City reserves the right to waive any technicalities or informalities and to accept or reject any and/or all submissions as deemed by its sole judgment to be in its best interest. The City also reserves the right to terminate the selection process without notice, to change the schedule of events, to waive any irregularities in any submittal, and to request additional information from any firm submitting an RFP.
