When making a grass complaint, please note the following process: 1. Once complaint is submitted, an inspector is sent out to the property to verify the complaint. Valid property address is required for the process to be initiated. 2. If grass exceeds 8 inches, a notification is sent to the property owner requiring them to comply with Section 5-1-1 of the Village Code, and providing them with an opporutnity to remedy the violation within ten days of the notification. 3. If no action is taken by the property owner after the ten day period has passed, a work order will be created for the Public Works Department to cut the grass at said property. Please not this work order process does not happen immediately, and priority is given to Village projects before residential grass cutting. 4. If public works is required to cut grass at any property, an invoice is sent to the homeowner. If the invoice is not paid, a lien will be placed on the property.
