Learn what's happening with the Winter Haven Intermodal Terminal at a project update public event 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., May 3, at the Chain of Lakes Complex, 210 Cypress Gardens Blvd.
An open house is planned to provide the community with updates on constructed and related activities associated with the new Winter Haven intermodal terminal. Key personnel will be on hand to provide attendees inforamtion on job opportunities, business opportunities, project overview and other relevant information. The event format will be an open house with specific stations set up for each area, providing attendees with a convenient opportunity to get th einformation most important to them, around their schedule.
The rail-based intermodal terminal is being constructed on Winter Haven's south side, on a 318-acre site west of the CSXT mainline. Help clean up Winter Haven lakes during the annual Project Eagle Lakes Cleanup. The one-day environmental cleanup is Saturday, April 28, from 8 a.m. to noon. Volunteers should meet at Lake Shipp Park so all efforts can be accounted for.
This all volunteer effort is sponsored by the City of Winter Haven, Keep Winter Haven Clean and Beautiful, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Southwest Florida Water Management District, Texas Cattle Company, Lakeside Adventures, Kissimmee River Valley Sportsman Association and Old Man Frank's.
