WINTER HAVEN – The yellow tabebuia tree has been chosen as the Centennial Tree for the City of Winter Haven. One hundred of the spectacularly blooming trees will be planted on public property throughout the City. Twenty-seven planting sites have been designated, and school and community groups and volunteers are invited to participate in the tree plantings. The tabebuia trees will be planted beginning March 16 and continue through April 16, or until all trees are planted. Individuals are also invited to plant their own yellow tabebuia trees in honor of the Winter Haven Centennial. Contact your local plant nursery for information about purchasing your own tree. To help plant a tree at one of the designated public sites, call the City's Landscape Services office, at 863-291-5745.
