DESCRIPTION:Fourth annual 5K race to benefit Polk Training Center for Handicapped Citizens, Inc. The 5K Race & 1 Mile Fun Walk will be at Water Ridge subdivision on Adams Barn Road between Auburndale and Lake Alfred. Race day registration begins at 7:15 a.m., race starts at 8 a.m. Pre-register at www.polktrainingcenter.org. Long sleeve T-shirts to all who register by Feb. 8. Awards to top three overall male and female finishers, ribbons to top three in gender/age specific categories. The event will end by 10 a.m. Race sponsorships are appreciated and will be listed on the event T-shirt. For questions, call Jane West at 297-9387. Polk Training Center for Handicapped Citizens, at 111 Creek Road, Lake Alfred, provides day training programs and employment to individuals with developmental disabilities. The center receives 100 percent of all contributions. The Center runs a wholesale and retail Plant Nursery featuring Florida-Friendly (TM) plants.
