Community Meeting regarding the development of a Master Plan for Pineapple Park/Lemon Avenue to be held on Thursday, February 2, 2017, at 6:00 p.m., in the City Commission Chambers, 1565 1st Street, Sarasota, FL. The below subject matters will be discussed: • The City Landscape Architect Consultant will provide a brief history of the design anddevelopment of Pineapple Park and how it transitioned into the existing conditions. • Review the fountain and art work within the park to get some thoughts from the community as to how to incorporate those items into the Master Plan. • Review design elements that make great urban park spaces such as Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED) • Engage the community/audience in their thoughts on what park elements and aspects of this urban space they would like to remain, change, leave and/or be added. • Q/A • Final Summary with explanation of the next steps for this master plan process The public is invited to attend. The Newtown CHAT will hold its monthly meeting on February 28 from 6-7 p.m. at the North Sarasota Library, 2801 Newtown Blvd., Sarasota. For more information contact Melanie Grafals at 941-861-2730 or Melanie.Grafals@flhealth.gov. The CHAT is a community-led group working in coordination with the Community Health Improvement Partnership to improve the health of Sarasota County residents. They are resident-led teams active in four geographically district areas of Sarasota County, including the North Sarasota/Newtown area. CHATs identify and research health issues facing the community, then take action to address these issues.
