Fogartyville Community Media and Arts Center, 525 Kumquat Ct., Sarasota, FL 34236 Green Drinks Every month people who work in the environmental field meet up at informal sessions known as Green Drinks. We have a lively mixture of people from NGOs, academia, government and business. Come along and you'll be made welcome. Just say, "are you green?" and we will look after you and introduce you to whoever is there. It's a great way of catching up with people you know and also for making new contacts. Owners recapture their initial extra outlay relatively early in the life of the building. Buildings use almost 50 percent of all the energy consumed in North America today. Dramatically reducing building heating and cooling energy needs will address climate change in a way that few other strategies can. Watch Passive House Revolution to find out more about how that revolution can come to your community and communities around the globe. 8:00pm: Panel Discussion Panelists will include green architect Tony Stefan, award-winning custom home builder Josh Wynne, and Sean Williams, Ambassador for the Living Building Challenge. This is a free event. For more information, please email info@transitionsrq.org or call (941) 408-3374.

2542 17th Street, Sarasota, FL 34234 Learn how to walk adoptable Cat Depot cats on a leash and harness to provide the cats with much needed physical and mental stimulation. If you are interested in attending, you must register online http://www.catdepot.org/education/cat-socialization.aspx or email Cody at codyc@catdepot.org. In a shelter environment, we try to provide as much stimulation for the cats and kittens as possible to reduce stress and boredom. Teaching cats and kittens to walk on a leash not only provides stimulation, it improves social skills and increases their ability to adapt to new environments. It can also bring attention to some cats who normally do not stand out in a large group, increasing their chances of getting adopted.

12/29/2014 7:30 PM - 10:30 PM (Events) Shen Yun Performing Arts Show
Shen Yun performing arts show features traditional Chinese culture as it was meant to be experienced. It captures the spirit of ancient China, recalling the grandeur of a culture long lost. The show moves quickly from one story, region, and dynasty to the next. Dozens of dancers in dazzling costumes move in seamless, flowing patterns. Chinaâ?Ts ethnic and folk dance styles fill the stage with color and energy. In a collection of vignettes, audiences journey from ancient legends to contemporary tales of courage, from the highest heavens to the dusty plateaus of the Middle Kingdom. Gorgeous backdrops extend the stage, transporting the audience to distant lands and eras. An orchestra, combining Western and Chinese instruments like no other, accompanies with soul-stirring scores. Dancers fly across the stage in an array of flips, spins, jumps, and aerials. websites: http://www.shenyun.com/sarasota https://www.facebook.com/ShenYunPerformingArts https://twitter.com/shenyun ORDERING By Phone: 1-888-974-3698 (Shen Yun Ticketing), 941-953-3368 (Theater) By Email: sysarasota@gmail.com Box Office: Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall 777 N.
