EAA is offering historic flight experiences in its beautifully restored B-17G Flying Fortress “Aluminum Overcast.” One of only 13 Fortress's still flying, this aircraft is an icon of the Allied strategic bombing effort that helped turn the tide of battle in World War II. Unlike reading a history book, you can actually fly a mission back in time and feel the might of this magnificent machine, just as those brave young men did more than 60 years ago. Hosted by Warbird Squadron 4. Rockin' the Ville - Mike and Joe
Deer Crossing Park, 1050 W. Romeo Rd.
Mike and Joe is high energy modern rock cover band, and is one of most successful bands of its type in the country. The band plays music primarily from the ‘90s and 2000’s, with an emphasis on current modern rock radio hits. The band distinguishes itself in three ways; with excellent players, through deliberate song selection, and with spot on vocals. There is an element of musical integrity to this band that brings a concert like feel to the performance, as opposed to the usual gimmick driven party band. The set list includes high-energy rock for the dance set, as well as performance driven selections that capture the imagination in a way that the typical 'party band' does not. The band does add a handful of 70s and 80s songs if the occasion calls for it, and is always mindful to create a unique set list that is appropriate for each event. For those looking for a very fun, mainstream, and uniquely talented band to entertain their guests or clients, Mike and Joe is a truly great find.
