| 10/5/2009 | New Registration Hours begin for Recreation Dept The Romeoville Recreation Department will be changing registration hours starting Monday, October 5th. Over the counter registration will be taken between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Drop off registration will be taken at the front desk after 6:00 p.m. on those days. Participants may also register over the counter between 9:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
Online registration is also available. To receive resident rates Romeoville residents must obtain a password at the Recreation Center during over the counter registration hours prior to registering online.

| 10/9/2009 5:00 PM | Registration for Community Basketball Deadline Registration for Romeoville's Community Basketball 2009-2010 season is going on now and will end at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2009. Community Basketball is for children in kindergarten through 8th grade. Fees are determined by grade level. Players will learn the game of basketball while developing a team concept and socializing with children their own age. Games and practices begin the week of October 26th and run through March 13th.

* Demonstration by K9 search and rescue

* Blood Drive with Heartland Blood Center

| 10/14/2009 6:00 PM | Humane Society Meeting -Fire Station 3, 698 Birch The Romeoville Humane Society is in the process of creating a non-profit animal shelter dedicated to eliminating cruelty, abuse, and the overpopulation of animals. The Humane Society is committed to creating the awareness of animal rights throughout the Romeoville community by providing numerous animal welfare programs, including pet adoptions, humane education, and cruelty investigations.
With your help we can reduce animal suffering throughout the area. Adoption, volunteering, education, participating in our special events, or making a donation to help support our programs, are all ways you can help make a difference in lives of abused, homeless, and neglected animals.
Please attend the next meeting of the Romeoville Humane Society as join us as we continue our role as an essential resource to our community, and the pets and people we serve.

Take Back the Night is an annual event featuring a rally and march against violence. The purpose of this event is to focus community attention on preventing sexual and domestic violence. Take Back the Night celebrates the strength of survivors and provides information regarding available resources for those in need. Together we can make our communities safer and Take Back the Night.
