10/7/2014 7:00 PM (Parks and Recreation) Public Meeting: Cross County Trail Feasibility
Local residents from Plymouth Township, Whitemarsh Township, and surrounding communities will have an opportunity on to learn more about the Cross County Trail Feasibility Study, a trail project to identify a multi-use pathway to fill a gap on the Cross County Trail between Germantown Pike and Joshua Road. The trail would ideally connect with the completed portion of the trail at Germantown Pike, and the planned portion of the trail extending eastwards from Joshua Road. Area residents, bicyclists, walkers, nature lovers, and outdoor enthusiasts are invited to participate in an evening workshop and express their ideas for the project. Participants can stop in at any time during the workshop to share their ideas. Maps and a questionnaire will be provided to facilitate the process. Representatives of Montgomery County, Plymouth and Whitemarsh Townships, the Study Committee, and the Consulting Team will be available to receive your input and questions. The Trail would ideally connect with the completed portion of the Trail at Germantown Pike, and the planned portion of the Trail extending eastwards from Joshua Road. Plymouth Township joined with Montgomery County to conduct a study to determine the feasibility of continuing the Cross County Trail from its current end point at Germantown and Chemical Roads in Plymouth Township into Whitemarsh Township. With funding provided by a PECO Green Region grant and township funds, Plymouth Township has contracted with Campbell Thomas & Company of Philadelphia, PA to conduct the study. Traffic Planning Design is serving as part of the Campbell Thomas & Co. team. A public workshop will be held on October 7th, 2014 between 7:00 and 9:00pm in meeting room A at the Greater Plymouth Community Center, 2910 Jolly Road, Plymouth Meeting, PA.
