Tennis Classes for Juniors
Kids ages 8-15 are invited to join us for these very popular classes to learn this lifelong sport! Classes are taught by Harper's Point Tennis Instructors at Weller Park. Two week program on Mondays and Wednesdays June 3, 5, 10 & 12, 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Weather make ups will be on June 6, 7, 13 & 14. Mobile Application Development Camp
Taught by iDaP Academy, kids 8-17 will use the latest technology and software to create an application or video game for mobile devices (i-Phone, Andriod phones, iPOD Touch, iPAD, Andriod tablets). Participants will be introduced to the rapid prototype development model and have the option of creating an app or game from scratch or use existing templates as inspiration. The choice is theirs. The first part of the program will be to brainstorm a concept, flow chart the application, storyboard screens and then develop the graphics, backgrounds and develop the application in game salad. A detailed agenda for each day is listed below. In addition to creating the game they will create their own video game trailer to promote their application or game. All apps will be published and made available on the iDaP academy website. The video trailers will be posted to the iDaP academy you tube channel and Facebook page. Some video trailers may be "premiered" before the Dive in Movie at the City of Montgomery Pool Luau Party and Dive in Movie on June 21. Classes are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and will be at Terwilliger Lodge at Dulle Park at 10530 Deerfield Rd. Cost $110. Minimum of 12 needed by June 10. Max 42. Four instructors from iDaP Academy will instruct this camp with maximum enrollment. Safety Village 2013
Safety Village is a fun-filled, informative week of presentations and hands-on experience for children ages 5-6. During the Monday-Friday, 3-hour sessions, children will receive important, and potentially life-saving instruction from Police Officers, Firefighters and Animal Safety Specialists. Participants will also have opportunities to view and use some of the equipment displayed during the week. This is a free event for Montgomery residents. Registration begins on April 29 for residents and May 6 for non-residents. The fee for non-residents is $25. Due to the popularity of this program, no repeat participants will be accepted. The coordinator is Officer Pat Giblin, DARE Officer for the Montgomery Police Department, assisted by Jennifer Fisher, certified teacher, and Cara Beitman, Teacher Assistant. The volunteers are specially selected Junior High and High School students.
Safety Village will occur rain or shine, and helmets are mandatory for all children. This class does not have a cancellation fee.

Young Rembrandt's Weekly Elementary Drawing
Kids Weekly Drawing Classes. Taught by Young Rembrandt's experts. June 19 - July 31, 6 sessions with no class on July 3, Ages 6-12 years, Wednesday's 5 to 6 p.m. All new classes. Materials Included.The fee for everyone is $67. Minimum of 6 needed by June 12. A Young Rembrandts class gives your child the opportunity to strengthen his or her drawing skills. This session, Young Rembrandts is getting up close and personal with everyone’s favorite family members, the household pet. In addition, artists will draw creatures found in the big blue sea, and, we will also travel back in time to the land of Dinosaurs. Students receive a foundational art literacy that invites them to continue an appreciation of the arts throughout their lifetime.

Young Rembrandt's Weekly Preschool Drawing

Young Rembrandts Instructors provide an engaging, creative environment where your child will learn how to draw and strengthen his or her artistic skills. Artists will "take a trip" to the rainforest, create characters from the desert and explore visual wonders from Under the Sea. A brightly-colored world of inspiration is at your little artist’s fingertips. Students receive a foundational art literacy that invites them to continue an appreciation of the arts throughout their lifetime.

Girls Singing Ensemble ages 9-12
Girls ages 9 - 12 will learn from professional, licensed music teacher Gina Jasinoski who has 15 years experience teaching voice and piano and 3 years experience with vocal ensemble camps and classes. This class is designed to help young girls learn proper singing techniques. Using fun and exciting music, girls will experience healthy singing fundamentals and will be given a chance to perform for others.A typical day includes vocal warm-ups, singing large group songs, selecting solo pieces, singing for instructor and peers, learning to critique, helping each other with breath support, vowel placement, opening mouth and posture. Monday - Friday, June 24 - 28, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Terwilliger Lodge in Dulle Park at 10530 Deerfield Road in Montgomery. $60.

Skyhawks Minihawk - Soccer, Baseball & Basketball
"Minihawk" (Soccer, Baseball & Basketball) for ages 5-8, Taught by Skyhawks at Weller Park (Weller Road next to Good Shepherd Parish), Monday through Thursday, July 8 - 11, 10:30 - 12:30 p.m. $69. This multi-sport program gives young children a positive first step into athletics. The essentials of baseball, basketball and soccer are taught in a safe, structured environment with a lot of encouragement and a big focus on fun. Minihawk games and activities are designed to allow campers to explore balance, movement, hand/eye coordination and skill development at their own pace. All campers receive a t-shirt and a merit award. Participants should bring: appropriate clothing, shin-guards (encouraged), baseball glove (encouraged), a snack, water bottle, running shoes and sunscreen.

Skyhawks Tinyhawk - Soccer & Basketball
"Tinyhawk" (Soccer & Basketball) for ages 3-4, Taught by Skyhawks at Weller Park (Weller Road next to Good Shepherd Parish), Monday through Thursday, July 8 - 11, 9-10 a.m. $50. Tinyhawk multi-sport program helps 3-4 year olds fine-tune their motor skills in soccer and basketball. No pressure, just lots of fun while these tiny athletes learn the basics through unique games. Children must be potty-trained to attend. Pull-ups are not allowed. All campers will receive a t-shirt and a merit award. Participants should bring: appropriate clothing, one snack, water bottle, running shoes and suncreen.

Young Actors Theater Camp ages 5-8
Kids will learn from professional Karen Vanover who has spent the last 25 years acting, directing and teaching theater arts. Got a “drama queen” on your hands? How about that little guy who can’t seem to sit still? This active, creative camp is for you. Dramatic play and basic theatre studies is a great way to channel energy, teach cooperation, and enhance reading comprehension. We’ll have tons of stuff for campers to do. Campers will participate in creative movement, singing, reciting memorized poetry and nursery rhymes, making costumes, and props. Pre-readers will be memorizing a poem or nursery rhyme. Readers will read, analyze, and prepare short scenes. The campers will finish off their week with a demonstration for friends, family and the community at the annual Bastille Day celebration on Saturday. Camp is held at Terwilliger Lodge in Dulle Park.

Kids will learn from professional Jim Burton This one week theatre camp will utilize the Viola Spolin techniques for teaching acting. Young actors will focus on creating believable characters through theatre games and exercises. Improvisation will play a strong part in the teaching process. Vocal training, character development, audition skills and stage movement will be explored culminating in a performance at Montgomery's Bastille Day celebration. The campers will finish off their week with a demonstration for friends, family and the community at the annual Bastille Day celebration on Saturday. Camp is held at Terwilliger Lodge in Dulle Park.

Junior Engineers (all new!) MadScience Camp
"How Does That Work?" Junior Engineers Camp! All new material is covered for those campers who attended last summer! Instructed by MadScience of Cincinnati experts who spark imaginative learning! Your Mad Scientist will discover the science of machines, magic, toys and optical illusions. They will build their own periscope and come to understand how man builds designs and builds machines and structures to cope with tasks and forces seemingly beyond their control. Skyhawks Beginner Golf Camp, ages 5-10
Skyhawks teaches this Beginner Golf Camp for ages 5-9 at Weller Park (Weller Road next to Good Shepherd Parish), Monday through Thursday, July 29 - Aug 1, from 10:30 to 12:30 p.m. $69. Skyhawks Beginner Golf focuses on building the confidence of young athletes through training in proper technique and skills. Skyhawks uses SNAG (Starting New at Golf) equipment that is designed for beginning golfers, including oversized plastic club heads and "mini tennis balls" to help build confidence and to have fun. As a safety precaution, golf helmets will be used for protection. All campers will receive a t-shirt and a merit award. Please do not bring your own clubs. Skyhawks Pre-K Golf Camp, ages 3-4
Skyhawks teaches this Pre-K Golf Camp for ages 3-4 at Weller Park (Weller Road next to Good Shepherd Parish), Monday through Thursday, July 29 - Aug 1, from 9-10 a.m. $50. Skyhawks will be using the SNAG (Starting New at Golf) Coaching System, a new system for training beginning golfers using the most fun golf equipment around. Skyhawks will provide launchers and rollers designed with larger heads and greater hitting surfaces that make it easier to hit the ball while learning proper swing techniques. Emphasis is on fun, participation and safety. All campers will receive a t-shirt and a merit award. Participants should bring: appropriate clothing, snack, water bottle, running shoes and sunscreen.

VAMP CAMP - Video Animation Movie Production, Lights - Camera - Action!
Taught by iDaP Academy, kids 8 - 17 will become a movie mogul this summer. Use various cameras and Final Cut Pro video editing software to complete a music video project.
Some music videos may be "premiered" before the Dive in Movie at the City of Montgomery Pool Luau Party and Dive in Movie on August 9. Classes are Monday through Friday, August 5 - 9, 9 a.m. to noon at Swaim Lodge at Swaim Park at the corner of Cooper and Zig Zag Rd. Cost $110. Minimum of 12 needed by July 29. Max 24.
