The City of Monroe provides water service to much of Monroe County. The City is normally responsible for all parts, materials, and labor up to and including the copperhorn (the copper piping surrounding the water meter). However, the City is not responsible for installations made by contractors or non-City entities.

Beyond addressing known leaks, the City of Monroe will provide free leak detection to its customers to include testing pipes, toilets, faucets, meters, etc. Again, this is a free service however it is normally necessary to enter the structure so an appointment is necessary.
