Animal concerns other than nuisance complaints are the responsibility of Monroe County Animal Control. Some of the resources or services provided include adoption, lost and found, licensing, and legal information. Animal traps of various sizes are also available for rent to combat nuisance animals.

Monroe County is also fortunate to have the Humane Society of Monroe County, a no kill animal shelter. Adoption and rescue services are available.
