World's Biggest Disc Golf Weekend
In May of each year, KCP&R presents a one-day ‘introduction to the sport’ at Lincoln Ridge Park as part of the international World’s Biggest Disc Golf Weekend. Fun begins at noon. And again at 2:00 pm. (A rain date of Sunday, May 5 has been set ~ just in case!)
Nearly 100 new players participate at Lincoln Ridge every year.
Want to learn how to play? Here is your chance! Free demonstrations of the many types of ‘throws’, including the Drive, the Approach, and the Putt. CTP Contests, Putting Contests, and even Mini Disc Contests. Brand new learning sessions and contests will begin at noon and at 2:00 pm!
Entry fee is as low as $15 and includes a WBDGW t-shirt and special commemorative disc.
Lincoln Ridge Park is easy to find! The address is 420 Independence Station Rd., Independence. From I-75, take the Florence/Union exit. Go east to 2nd stop light (Industrial Road). Turn R. Go to 1303/Turkeyfoot Road. Turn R and go 1/2 mile to Independence Station Road (just past the Marathon Food Mart). Turn L and go 2 miles. The park will be on your L. Or, from I-275, take the Turkeyfoot Road exit and go south about 6 miles to Independence Station Road. Turn L and go 2 miles to the park.

On Monday, it's a variety of indoor games in the Armory at Tower Park in Ft. Thomas.

High School Disc Golf Championships
KCP&R will present the 11th HSDGC on Saturday, May 11. The tournament will consist of one round of 24 holes. On-site registration will begin at 12:00 pm with Player’s Meeting at 12:30 pm, and shotgun start tee off at 12:45 pm.
Separate divisions for Girls and Boys. Currently enrolled HS students are eligible to compete with ID. An entry form must be completed with parent’s signature required for entrants under 18. Entry forms are available here or at the bulletin board next to Tee #1.
Cost is $20 per player. Each entrant will receive a Golf Disc. Pre-registered players will also receive a disc golf t-shirt.
TEAM FORMAT: Combined lowest score of the Top 5 members of one team will win a traveling team trophy. You MUST have a minimum of 5 players from your school to compete for the team trophy.
INDIVIDUAL FORMAT: Individual player with lowest score will win the Individual championship. Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 Individuals.

Programs are held in Shelterhouse 1 at Pioneer Park ~ rain or shine ~ beginning at 10:00 am. The free programs are delivered in 1-hour theatrical assembly presentations. Arrive early for best seating and pre-programs.
On May 16, it's A Journey of Exploration & Imagination on America�s Waterways with RiverWorks Discovery (KCPL@9:30, DTA@11).
Science, popcorn and lemonade from Faith Community United Methodist Church, and FREE pizza snack lunch from Snappy Tomato Pizza ~ Ft. Wright! Can it get any better?
Pioneer Park is easy to find! The address is 3951 Madison Pike, Covington, KY 41017. Directions: From I-275, take Exit 80 (Covington/Independence). Go south (away from Covington) and about 1 mile. You�ll see the park on the right before you get to the entrance. Turn right as you enter the park and meet at Shelterhouse 1.
