Sugar Camp BEGINS ~ Makin' Maple Syrup
Is Winter dragging on and on and on? Are you fed up with hearing ‘I’m bored’? Are you tired of being cooped up in the house? Are you WAY overdue for a walk in the woods?
Join KCP&R for just what the doctor ordered ~ Sugar Camp at Middleton-Mills Park, beginning Monday, February 27! Elrod Tapper (Mike Strohm) will again be demonstrating the art and science of making maple syrup. Step back in time! Experience life in a mid-1800’s backwoods sugar camp. Was living in ‘the olden days’ really a simpler time? You be the judge!
Taste unrefined sweet sap water and sample home-made maple syrup!
Call (859) 525-PLAY (7529) today for reservations for Monday-Friday with sessions from 10~11:30 am, 12~1:30 pm, and 2~3:30 pm. On Saturday, it's 10 am~3:30 pm with no resevations required. And, there'll be additional primitive arts being demonstrated with corn husk doll-making and a working blacksmith.
Experience the wonder of Nature at its best-tasting best! Mother Nature holds the key: When the sap starts runnin’, we’ll be makin’ maple syrup! And it's runnin' NOW!
Directions: From I-275, take Exit 79. Go south on KY 16 for 7 miles. Turn L on Mills Road. Turn R as you enter the park and follow signs to Sugar Camp.
