FARMINGTON TO HOST VIETNAM VETERANS MEMORIAL TRAVELING WALL Farmington, Missouri (September 14, 2012) – The City of Farmington is proud to sponsor the “Vietnam Veterans Memorial Traveling Wall”. It has been scheduled for viewing from October 4th thru October 8th and will be available for viewing 24 hours a day. The Memorial Wall will be located next to the Sport Complex off of Ste. Genevieve Avenue. Staffing for the Memorial Wall will be from the American Legion Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, Disabled American Veterans Chapter and the American Veterans organizations. Guides will be available to help find names and assist in rubbings. Opening dedication will be on October 4th at 1PM. Daily speakers and programs are scheduled. Closing ceremony will be October 8th at 2PM. For Volunteer and Ceremony information contact Ken Kelly at 573-747-8785.

Chicken and dumpling dinner at the Farmington Senior Center 607 Wallace Rd. to benefit the senior center and the United Way. All four centers, Bismarck, Bonne Terre, Park Hills and Farmington will be having this event at their location. The meal will include homemade chicken and dumplings, green beans, coleslaw, hot roll, dessert and drink. The meal will be $7.00 a plate. Come meet members of the United Way Board and Celebrity Volunteers.
