A variety of Star Wars crafts will be offered for children and teens. We’ll also enjoy some cool spacey snacks. Then, we’ll watch the original Star Wars film (Episode 4, rated PG). Younger children are encouraged to attend with an adult. The movie, snacks, and crafts are free of charge. Everyone is welcome!

Kennedy, Jr. Library to share their favorite stories with children. Join us in the Youth Corner for these free events! All children are welcome. Are you interested in theater? Acting? Improv? This program will be a once a week meeting for middle and high school students to come and participate in improvisational comedy. You'll be provided with viewing materials and scripts, and we will have a culminating performance at the end for parents, friends, and library patrons to attend. This is a high energy, experiential learning activity that will be tons of fun! Registration required. Ages 10-17.

Cabooses were once part of every freight train, today they are basically gone from the railroading scene. With an oral presentation followed by a slide show, Anthony Rzucidlo, president and CEO of the Michigan Railroad Club will give an interesting overview of the history of cabooses, why they were developed and why they were almost eliminated.

The Teen Advisory Board meets each month, one hour before Teen Movie Night, from 5:00 – 6:00 to discuss anything and everything pertaining to the library. Come tell Ms. Jennifer what books, CDs, DVDs, and video games that you want the library to buy. Help plan programs and choose upcoming movie night movies. Prospective TAB members are always welcome to attend. Ages 11-17 are welcome.

APR A & B. Our film is Jungle Book. (2016, with live actors).) The man-cub Mowgli flees the jungle after a threat from the tiger Shere Khan. Guided by Bagheera the panther and the bear Baloo, Mowgli embarks on a journey of self-discovery, though he also meets creatures who don't have his best interests at heart. Family Movie Nights usually occur on the last Tuesday of the month. We show the film at 4 pm and again at 6:30 pm. The films are always rated G or PG. The programs are free of charge. Members of the Teen Advisory Board will be selling treats to benefit library programs.
