The Dearborn Heights Caroline Kennedy Library, the Motor City Radio Club and the Southeastern Michigan IEEE Section will present a 10 part series of Amateur Radio license classes finishing with an examination to obtain your Amateur Radio license. We will be using The “No-Nonsense Technician Class License Study Guide” by Dan Romanchick, KB6NU for tests given after July 1, 2014. This is a free down load of 58 pages in PDF format available at www.kb6nu.com/study-guides/. Or … printed copies can be ordered at Amazon.com for under $15. Read through each ‘section’ of the text for each class, before each class and we will discuss any confusing points when we meet. An optional 11th evening will provide an opportunity to take the official FCC examination for the Technician Class Amateur Radio License. We will also provide students with a list of other test sites and dates where they may take the test. (The license examination fee is always $15.00.)

YPR-Join us and learn all about the fascinating life of bees and why these tiny, simple creatures are truly amazing. Presenter, Michael Sautter maintains about 30 bee colonies that produce 500 pounds of local honey each year. He will demonstrate the art of beekeeping and provide hands-on experiences. He will share the importance of honeybees, the threats to their survival and some possible responses to those threats.

The Teen Advisory Board meets each month, one hour before Teen Movie Night, from 5:00 – 6:00 to discuss anything and everything pertaining to the library. Come tell Ms. Jennifer what books, CDs, DVDs, and video games that you want the library to buy. Help plan programs and choose upcoming movie night movies. Prospective TAB members are always welcome to attend. Ages 11-17 are welcome.
