As part of the Severe Weather Safety Program, Sedgwick County Emergency Management will be offering a Severe Weather Safety and Spotter Course at the Bel Aire City Building, 7651 E. Central Park Avenue, on Thursday, April 14, 2011. All citizens are invited and encouraged to attend!
Kansas Safe Routes to School ATTENTION K-8 PARENTS, TEACHERS, & STUDENTS WE NEED YOUR HELP! Technologial advances are wonderful and have evolved into a very important, sometimes critical, part of our daily lives. Amongst the many benefits, they provide a wide array of entertainment options and, often times, make us more efficient at the tasks we perform each day. However, the bad comes with the good. Technology also has the tendency to keep us infront of the TV or computer for prolong periods of time, glue us to our smartphones, or encourage extensive reliance upon video games. Studies show all of these result in little or no physical activity and can lead to deteriorating health.
