Which schools will my children attend?
Bel Aire is part of both USD 259 (Wichita) and USD 375 (Circle). Elementary schools in USD 259 are Chisholm Trail and Gammon (see map here), the middle school is Stucky, and the high school is Heights. If you live in the eastern part of Bel Aire, you are part of the Circle district and Benton Elementary.

Where can I find senior information?
Click here to learn more about the Bel Aire Senior Center, which is located at City Hall (7651 E. Central Park Avenue). For more information, call the Senior Director at (316) 744/2451 ext. 121.

Who is on the City Council?
Click here for biographical information on City Council members. The Bel Aire City Council currently consists of Dr. Gary Breault, Carolyn Marlier, Peggy Sue O'Donnell, David Austin, and Council President David Sly. The Mayor is Harold Smith.

Water/Utilities

How do I sign up for water and trash service?
Call the Water Clerk at (316) 744-2451 ext. 132.

What are my options for paying my utility bill?
Utility bills are due on the 10th of each month in full. Currently, residents can pay with cash or check, either in person, through the mail or at the City Hall drop box. Residents can also sign-up for automatic bank drafts by submitting this ACH Banking Authorization Form and documentation.

My neighbor has water running in their yard into the street, and they are on vacation. What should I do?
Call the City Utility Office at (316) 744-2451 ext. 132. If it is after hours (8 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday), please call one of our emergency numbers, (316) 761-6972 or (316) 761-6973. These numbers are for an EMERGENCY ONLY!

I have water running from my yard onto the street. What do I do?
If you have water running from your water meter or on the outside of your house, please call the City Utility Office at (316) 744-2451 ext. 132. If it is after hours (8 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday) or weekend emergency, please call one of our emergency numbers, (316) 761-6972 or (316) 761-6973. These numbers are for an EMERGENCY ONLY!

What are the blue and green flags doing in my yard?
The blue flags are how the water department locates the City water main and green flags are for sewer location. Typically pipes are flagged at the request of a utility company or the City may request flagging to make repairs on an underground utility.

The water department installed or repaired a water main in front of my home and has not been back to repair my lawn. Who can I call?
In most cases, we would prefer to wait a few days to dry out and settle before crews make the final touches and plantings. If it has been more than a few dry days, please contact the Utility Billing Clerk at (316) 744-2451 ext. 132.

My water meter is low or sunken and it is dangerous. Who do I contact?
Please contact the Utility Billing Clerk at (316) 744-2451 ext. 132. You can also email publicworks@belaireks.gov or fill out our online General Water Question form.

How can I pay my utility bill?
Drop it off in person or mail to Bel Aire City Hall, 7651 E. Central Park Ave., Bel Aire, KS 67226. You can also complete this form to authorize automatic banking account deduction. Return the form to the Water Department at the above address.

Building and Zoning

Do I need a building permit?
Click here for a list of all projects that require a permit. This list is not exhaustive and if you or your contractor have any questions regarding building permits, please contact the City Building Inspector, Keith Price, at (316) 744-2451 ext. 120 or e-mail bldginsp@belaireks.gov.

How do I get a building permit?
