The Amberley Village Law Committee will meet to discuss the Village's solicitor position and will go into executive session. A proposed amendment to the tax ordinance will also be reviewed. The amendment would impose a penalty on late tax return filings. Excluding the executive session, this is an open meeting and the public is welcome to attend.

The Jewish Community Center will host 'Authors Out Loud' speakers series beginning November 8-12 at the JCC 7485 Ridge Road. November 8 - Author Martin Fletcher talks about his book, "Breaking News." Fletcher will share his experiences as an NBC New Tel Aviv Bureau Chief and grizzled news veteran. His talk will feature war stories and his career experience from battlefield camraman to media executive. Fletcher has covered every event of consequence in the Middle East and Africa over the past thirty years.

The Jewish Community Center will host 'Authors Out Loud' speakers series beginning November 8-12 at the JCC 7485 Ridge Road. The series is open to the public and begin at 7 p.m. To purchase tickets or for more information, call 761-7500 or visit www.JointheJ.org. November 9 - Dr. Robert H. Osher, one of American's leading eye surgeons, UC professor, and lecturer, will discuss surviving kidney cancer, being a father, and his experience in the ophthalmology field with his book, "The Real ABCs: achievement, balance, contentment." Known as one of the top 10 cataract surgeons in the U.S., Osher has been the ophthalmic consultant for the Cincinnati Reds since 1990, and he has published 12 children's books to help raise money for local and national charities.

November 10 - Fans of the "Twilight" series, be they mothers or daughters, will enjoy hearing about the love affair between a vampire obsessed girl and her mysterious dark-eyed vampire boyfriend in Ellen Schreiber's "Vampire Kisses: Blood Relatives - Volume 3." Vampire Kisses is a Young Adults' Choice for the International Reading Association and Children's Book Council. Schreiber, a former actress and stand-up commedienne, is also the author of "Teenage Mermaid" and "Comedy Girl."

The Amberley Village Citizen Advisory Committee will meet to hear a presentation of a proposed plan for the future of the Amberley Green property. This is an open meeting. The public is welcome to attend.

The Jewish Community Center will host 'Authors Out Loud' speakers series beginning November 8-12 at the JCC 7485 Ridge Road. The series is open to the public and begin at 7 p.m. To purchase tickets or for more information, call 761-7500 or visit www.JointheJ.org. November 11 - Families with young children can come to the JCC in their pajamas to enjoy a concert and "breakast for dinner" at 6 p.m. with Rabbi Joe Black, author of the children's book, "Boker Tov! Good Morning!" Rabbi Black is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and one of America's top 10 children's performers in Jewish music. In keeping with the morning-time theme of Rabbi Black's book and songs, admission includes a bagel breakfast for dinner, in addition to a family-friendly musical concert. There are several sponsorship opportunities, and proceeds benefit the JCC Early Childhood School.

November 12 - Men and women of all ages will learn new methods of communicating with the opposite sex with Dr. Karen Gail Lewis, author of the book, "Why don't you understand? - a gender relationship dictionary." This book translates more than 70 words and phrases that have different meanings for the person speaking and listening. Understanding the various meanings of these words can rescue men and women from frustrating bickering and painful arguments.

Scott Beuerlein, owner of Heritage Gardens landscaping company, will speak at 10 a.m. at Village Hall. Topics include: diversity in both cultivated and wild landscapes, positive impact gardeners can play in furthering diversity in the ecosystem, and how unsustainable deer numbers are causing harm. No need to register for this free seminar. All residents welcome!

Tango in the Park Series: Cincinnati's Argentine social club is presenting Milongas, an Argentine tango dance event for spectators and participants to explore the multiple facets of tango improvisation. The Amberley Village Beautification Committee meets regularly in the Community Room at Village Hall. The meetings are open to the public and Amberley residents are encouraged to volunteer regardless of experience. The committee plans a variety of activities throughout the year, from weeding and mulching to educational speakers.
